Ok so this is my second drawing for the game concept that and I have been working on. What happens here is Scary Fear got tired of people in towns and markets randomly being afraid of him even when he wasn't trying to scare anyone. So he figured the next time his team went to a new planet to buy goods he'd wear a cloak and cover up his scary features. But what he hadn't counted on was that that actually made him even creepier and scarier. When he tried to pay for something and the merchant began to panic he lost it and went into his berserk mode, took off his hood and showed his full fangs, claws and wings and yelled "I AM FEAR!" It was a rather powerful move out of frustration that sent the whole market into a panic and all the vendors vanished. No Korsho, George and Paul can't buy anything. Korsho looks at Fear annoyed and tells him "This whole cloak thing isn't working." Fear knows he screwed up and just wants to forget his failure and replies, "Apparently not." I drew this fairly fast. Wanted to do a simple but nice background for this. I'm happy with it. I'm very happy with how the two turned out. I love Fear's expression. I think he looks very nice despite being upset with himself.
I plan to color most of the five sketches that lead up to this scene. I just did the last one first. So Triangulum Resistance finished art will be posted here because it's OC work.
UPDATE: April 5, 2017 Updated Fear's new look here.
Oh, it's so nice to see another Triangulum Resistance art from you. I must say you done a fantastic job drawing both Scary Fear and Korsho. To begin, Your expression skill never disappoints me because I can always tell their expression accurately. I can definitely relate their disappointed and frustrated feeling, it sucks that the town peoples are still fearing Scary Fear even if he's wearing a cloak. In addition, I absolutely love the shading technique you used here. The cell shading looks very nice with the gradience effect. The gradience looks especially nice on Scary Fear's cloak, it gives the surface a smooth texture. I think you totally serve Korsho's design justice here, you did a fantastic job illustrating his design. The shading looks very nice on his blue feathers, and I love the spark you added in his eye. Now move on to the background, I totally admire the way you drew the building and object details of the buildings. I can tell that you put effort into this because I can see shadings in every single brick. The vase and the vegetables are nicely drawn, and they indicate the audience that the location is a market. Overall, I think you did an amazing job on this piece, I am not surprised to see that Gamma enjoys this!
Thank you. I definitely want to draw more scenes from this story. It's so fun. Thanks. I really enjoy expressions. Yeah Scary Fear messed everything up this time. He's sorry but doesn't even want to say that as he already feels bad enough. It's too bad the cloak didn't work. It was a decent idea in theory but didn't work in practice. I'm glad you like my shading. Sometimes it's nice to combine those two techniques. I'm glad you like the background. Actually I did a very simple rush job on it. But I'm glad you think it's good. Aw thank you. It was a fun short story too.
In this part well yeah he found out he can't cover up what he is. He just needs to go out as is. Not everyone will be afraid of him. Yes very good they are both logical and clam. They keep their anger down to an annoyed level as lesson is now learned and nothing can be done about this. Yep best to go somewhere else or waste two days until the market resets.
The scenery here is like a medieval faire. I think it looks good for a merchant place in a game. Anyone would be familiar with it and they could even guess what it is without reading the description.
Admitting one's mistakes takes strong character so I think it fits Scary Fear. He's smarter than to go on with a plan that obviously doesn't work. It was worth a try, but they both know it's not going to work.
So space birds and Hell's demons exist, off to a great setting!
I imagine Fear has a big view of himself, as why shouldn't he, when he;s got so much power. So to set his pride aside and admit when he is wrong is a big move. But gives the personalities of the others, especially Korsho, that's Fear's best move as there is no bs with either of them. This game has the potential for a lot of storyline, even more than actual gameplay. I do love a great story in my games.
The hood could come in use in missions and battles. His whole thing is to be scary and the hood works like this then there's no reason to throw it out, just find a new use.
Thank you. Oh yes I have so many ideas I have not presented for this yet. But then pretty much any story I write is very complex and deep and I tend to only scratch the surface with my art. I enjoy a good story too so I'm glad to hear that.
Hum, I need to give it some though. Perhaps I can find another use for it other than this one scene to humiliate Fear with. I think I'll note you on all these stories too so you know what's really going on.
Scary Fear and Korsho looks like two Big Bads that are trying to have a normal day, and I love it. Great work!
That's exactly what's going on as both are bad guys. They need to have supplies to do evil things after all. Thanks I'm very glad you like this.
Haha yeah closed for the next two days. Thanks. Both are upset about what happened and it's all directed at Fear.
Fear should have thought a little bit more about this first. If you already are scary, a cloak just adds intimidation and creep factor. I love the dirty look Korsho is giving Fear. Korsho's eyes are pretty here too.
I guess the vegetable seller would have been doing pretty good business before Fear showed up, since there doesn't look to be that big of a pile on his stand.
Yeah he only thought he'd be covered up but didn't realize this made things worse for him. Korsho is like how could he not have seen that coming. Thanks. I love coloring nice bright eyes.
Ha that's the lazy artist not wanting to keep drawing fruits over and over But yes that's a good explanation. They must be yummy to sell so well.
This looks great now that's it completely colored and shaded, I think the shading turned out great on both characters. I like how you did the lighting on Korsho’s feathers, the shading on his accessories looks good as well, and the glossy shading on his hat and cape is nice too. I like his expression, controlled annoyance but still having a critical look. Fear looks good in the robe, too bad it didn’t work out in his favor.
The background looks nice too, it does remind me of a bazaar, albeit an empty one with all the townsfolk having fled the place. Maybe some are hiding in the pots . At least they didn’t take all the wears and food with them. The brick buildings are nicely painted too, I like how you painted the stalls and the vegetables too. Great work!
Thanks. That's exactly what I was going for, a bazaar. Ha, yes someone had to have jumped into the pots. That's great. I'm glad you liked them. Kind of my first time trying to do a digital painting. The stalls were kind of hard.
I just heard that the glitch was fixed so I'm glad to hear about that.
Yes I'm glad the glitch is now fixed so I hope no more problems with uploads.
This looks like a fun game and I would play it.
Aw thanks. I'm glad you'd play it. I wish this was a real game.
As you know by the sketch I was very much amused by this scene, I just loved the interaction between these two. Korsho looks annoyed but is controlled, and Fear does have that look of shame. Certainly very fitting considering the situation, with Korsho he is bothered that they can no longer buy goods and must now resort to stealing; and with Fear well, he screwed up and of course wishes that this failure didn't occur. Considering that we often see Fear very confident, it's interesting seeing him like this look bothered and ashamed due to his bad idea. Indeed the cloak was inherently not going to work, because cloaks simply are creepy looking to the point where you can just wear one and call it your Halloween costume. As for Korsho, you definitely drew his face perfectly. He looks spot on with the expression, plus your style suits him very well. Certainly one of the best artworks of Korsho by someone else, and your style is pretty close to mine so that is very nice as well. I love the eye a lot, it's so nicely coloured and shaded. The beak and crest feathers are very nice too. The hat looks great, you certainly did a lot better than many on that accessory. I like how you drew the mechanical wing, you can definitely tell it's metal especially the golden part. Fear looks neat too, I actually like his looks in the cloak.
The background, though simple is very nice and conveys the mood. It definitely does give off that feeling of a bazaar on some warm planet. Clearly this place was very crowded and populated before, until Fear came and ruined everything. I like that you included details like the flags, stand, etc. since it definitely signifies a bazaar. I see some vegetables, I wonder whether they taste good? Also nice work with the bricks on the building and the overall lighting of the peice, I can tell it's a pretty sunny day.
Overall, thank you very much I absolutely love this!! It's so great to see you draw Korsho, wonderful you now drew my duo. A lovely surprise to come home to.
Certainly one of the best artworks of Korsho by someone else, and your style is pretty close to mine so that is very nice as well.
This makes me very happy. I was hoping you'd say that. That I have come closest to your style and got Korsho right better than anyone else. I need to learn to draw him and Paul since I will have to be drawing them a lot for this game/story. I'm glad you like the hat. I have a hard time with top hats actually so I'm glad it turned out nice. Actually hats in general. Geroge's hat is hard too. I had fun coloring Korsho's eye. I love doing eyes if a character has them. I do too and I really enjoyed drawing Fear wearing this. Very tempting to make this his third outfit but I won't. I know that's the lazy artist in me talking. But it is something that I can use in several of his story lines.
I'm glad the background works. Yes this was a large market place on a lovely planet. There were lots of aliens selling and trading stuff here before Fear arrived. I had the idea for the flags from the start. The veggies were fun too. I think they would be yummy. This isn't the usual way I make bricks. I did a simple fast job but glad they worked out.
You're welcome. I'm glad you liked this scene from the game.
^^ Well it's certainly true, I looked at my other gifts and yes you got the style the most correct. I think you already have a good handle on these two, as your style matches mine very well and vice versa (it's interesting how similar our styles are). I can understand, hats are pretty hard but I still think you did better than others since a lot of people either drew the hat too short or too sloppy/squished looking. Eyes can be fun to draw. Hah I can see why you wouldn't want to have this be his third outfit, since yea despite it looking nice in a sense it is lazy artistry. BTW, is it alright if I bring up a tiny thing regarding Korsho? Do not worry this is literally a two second change.
Yes it must have been a sight to see with all the many aliens. I remember, because in the live stream I did manage to join you mentioned that you were gonna draw flags. I suppose these are alien vegetables, maybe Paul and George would like them. I think these bricks work here due to the style of the setting, it fits a more warm climate setting.
I'm very happy to hear this. It's nice that we are the ones that draw each others' characters the best of anyone. Yes tell me what's wrong. I need to learn to draw him right.
I think they look like melons or some kind of cucurbit. You know I love cucurbits so I had to add those in the background.
I agree, and it's interesting this is the case but it works. You need to change his chest feathers from white to dark indigo like the colour of his hat and cape, you'll see in ref that it isn't whitish like the cheek feathers above. But other than that, you did well.
They should be cucurbits, because gourds and anything relating to gourds are very important.
Yes cucurbits are important to this story as they are a Gord reference too.
Cucurbits are the most important plants in this story. ;D
If "Triangulum Resistance" were a real game, I think I would play it.
Aw thanks. I think it would be a great game. I have so many ideas for it. I do wish it were real.
Edit: Ah just as I finish this comment the glitch is fixed, Victory!
